Nomination Procedure
March 14, 2008
It is time once again to begin thinking about making nominations for the
chapter's High Summit Honor Society.
Briefly, the purpose of the High Summit
Honor Society is to honor those Genesee Valley chapter volunteers who have gone
way above and beyond in their volunteer contribution to the chapter over a
period of time exceeding ten years.
The selection committee is headed by the Past Chair and consists of all elected
officers of the chapter as well as up to four additional members selected by
the committee. They are responsible for accepting nominations, and selection
into the HSHS. At this time, the additional members have not been selected.
Future issues of the newsletter, as well as the GVC website, will update you on
those members' names.
We are now accepting nominations for our sixth class of honorees to be inducted
into the High Summit Honor Society. You can use the forms in this newsletter or
here on the chapter's web site (pdf) to nominate a
member or former member you feel is deserving. The guidelines limit us to a
maximum of five new members each year. If you made a written nomination last
year and your nominee was not selected, that nomination will automatically be
considered again this year. Please check out the chapter's website listing the
25 inductees from past five years.
We ask that all nominations be submitted by the end of March. You can mail them
to the chapter address, or to me, Richard Sensenbach, at
74 Indiana Street, Rochester, N.Y. 14609.
You can also e-mail nominations to any member of the
selection committee. Once selected, you will find the e-mail addresses of the
committee members on the Chapter's website.
Decisions will be made by the first week of June and those selected
notified soon after that. Induction of the sixth class of honorees will take
place at the September chapter meeting this year and every year thereafter in
which members are selected.

of the Adirondack Mountain Club.
