29^th ANNUAL GENESEE VALLEY CHAPTER ADK WINTER LOJ TRIP

We're also taking wait list for a Private Room. But if you want to assure yourself a place at this year's big winter event, don't wait too long!

Our ADK Winter Loj Trip is an annual Genesee Valley Chapter tradition; for the past 28 years, old and new members have used this winter retreat to discover the most exhilarating way to experience the High Peaks, and the comradery to share it with as a lifelong activity. The Chapter has reserved the entire Loj as our own private retreat from Thursday, Feb. 18th through Sunday, Feb. 21st. Come join your old ADK friends, and make new ones - snowshoeing or skiing the High Peaks trails, skating on Heart Lake, or just reading by day, then comparing the day's ventures each evening gathered around the fire in the Loj Great Room.

By popular demand, Annie and the Hedonists will be back again this year on the Saturday evening to bring us another exciting evening of musical entertainment.

Here's what Albany's Metroland news weekly says about Annie and the Hedonists:

Metroland 2008 "Best Acoustic Band" : "What's your pleasure, folkie? Country blues? Bluegrass? Celtic music? Current singer-songwriters? With Annie Rosen's world-class vocals toppping off layers of fine instrumental work, this local quartet offer one-stop listening in more tasy genres than you can shake a pick at. That's why they take the acoustic cake."

The Loj Trip includes 3 nights of lodging, 3 breakfasts, dinners Friday and Saturday evenings, and gratuity for the Loj staff. I will be asking participants to bring their favorite snack or hors d'oeuvre for the evening get togethers. Non-alcoholic beverages are included. Beer and wine will be offered at a cash bar by the Loj. Trail lunches can be purchased from the Loj by those who don't want to bring their own.

RATES (same as 2009) -

Loft Bunkroom - 12 persons	$185.00
Family Rooms (16 persons in 4 and 6 person rooms)	$215.00
Private rooms (double occupancy/per person) - 5 rooms	$260.00

RESERVATIONS -

NOTE: This year, reservations are a 2-step process. To reserve your spot, you need to do both:

1. Mail your Deposit check of $95.00 per person.
   Make the check payable to "Genesee Valley Chapter- ADK".
   Mail it to: Shae Hanford, 68 Crosman Terrace, Rochester, NY 14620.
   Please indicate the reservation names and phone numbers on the check.
   
   AND
2. Fill in and submit the Registration Form.
   The form can be used for one individual or a couple.
   There will be car pooling, so please indicate your ride status on the Registration Form.

Genesee Valley Chapter members will be given reservation priority on a first-come first-filled basis, accepted - beginning effective November 23th, 2009 - in order of date of postmark of the mailed Deposit Check or date of submission of the Registration Form, whichever is later. Reservations received after the trip is full will be placed on a waiting list. Cancellation policy: full deposit refund if your space is filled by another on the waiting list.

In January, further trip details and the amount of the balance due will be e-mailed out to the group.
